With IE9, Microsoft changed the way search providers are configured.  Google supplies a search provider for IE9, and it's one of the first things I set in IE.  I've never really thought about it until today, but Google.com doesn't include the "pages from New Zealand" menu item on the left of the results page.  I want this available on all my searches.   When I search from the address bar (the starting place for 99% of my searches), I want the results provided by Google.co.nz, not Google.com, so I can get the "pages from New Zealand" option.

Has anyone done this ?

Sure, modify HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes. Having said that, when I use the default Google search provider it switches to google.co.nz and I do get that option.

A bit more detective work and I found this :
http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/searchbuilder.asp

Just do a Google NZ search for TEST and paste the URL into the box. Easy.

@bazzer: Oddly, Google doesn't automatically switch to GoogNZ results for me. Probably something to do with my gmail account or something.
