Help !!

The drop down box for "My network card connects to:" is supposed to have Internet or Work.

Mine is now blank and various things now complain about connectivity.

This has happened once before and I just rebuilt the machine - but I really want to know how to avoid/fix this without the rebuilt method.

Config is:
ipaq 5550 with CDMA 1x GTRAN card

Cheers,
RickW

I recommend a hard reset. Synchronise, hard reset and create the partnership again. This will restore your data, and you can reinstall the programs from the ActiveSync Add/Remove list.

Don't restore a full backup, since some of the bad settings may come back - simply restore data if needed.

Thanks. I decided to do a hard reset and rebuild. It's not so bad as long as your PC is around. It does make me a bit nervous as one reason that I bought the IPAQ was for a two week trip to Europe next month where I want to use the IPAQ and leave the laptop at home (3band GSM/GPRS phone as gateway).

Doing a rebuild without my PC would be pretty tough. The only way out is to make sure that I have a good, solid backup that I can restore. If anyone has any perspective or suggestions, they would be appreciated.

Best option is to make a full backup as soon as you have the device up and running with your software and before you start using it for anything. Then if you need to restore this is a good point.
