Hi Guys

I hope someone can help me. I am using ActiveSynch 4.2 and Pocket Informant
2007. Lately, when I synch my contacts to Outlook only partial information
gets across, the name, the phone number and the Email. The address does not
get across.
When I right click on contacts in ActiveSynch the settings button is greyed
out, so is tasks, but calendar is okay (I only synch those three) I therefore
cannot check to see what is being synched.
I have deleted the partnership, rebooted the PC and created another one, that
didn't work. I have uninstalled 4.2, rebooted the PC then reinstalled 4.2,
that also didn't work. I uninstalled 4.2, rebooted the PC and reinstalled 4.5 beta,
that didn't work either. I am running out of ideas and really have no
idea why the setting button should be greyed out.Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks

Howard

Welcome to Geekzone... There are no configurations for Contacts on ActiveSync to select just some of the fields for synchronisation. Make sure that your contacts on Outlook are not on a subfolder. Perhaps therey were moved and now the contacts being synchronised are not the same and you can't see the data?

Also make sure you are looking at the right fields (there are more than one Address space for each contact).

Try running the SCANPST tool that is installed on the Outlook program files folder. Point to the PST file where your data is stored and let it check the file for integrity.

If you don't know where the PST file is, you should. It's important to backup that file because that's where all emails, contacts and calendar information is stored.

Thanks for replying.

I used SCANPST to check the integrity of the filet here were faults, which I have now repaired. I doublechecked the folders and the contacts are not in a subfolder.
Whilst checking everything I did make an interesting discovery though. When I pulled up Outlook and opened up the file with the missing data in it, if I unchecked the box that says "this is the mailing undress" and then used the drop down box to go to the Home address the address is there!!
I have since saved it, and now when I Synch it is still there. So, I have used a workround to sort the problem out.
However, what I still don't understand is why the settings button is greyed out in ActiveSynch?

I would love to know the answer to this as well.

My settings are greyed out as well. This prevents me from editing the categories I allow to to be added to my PDA.
I use to be able to do it on my old laptop, but since the new one everything syncs except this function.

I would even pay to have the problem resolved, but alas, no one knows how to solve it.

Really appreciate any assistance on this problem.

I had actually posted this problem on another web site, somebody answered and said that in ActiveSynch 4.2 all the settings are greyed out. This didn't happen in the version 3 series but when they upgraded to version 4.
