Recently my HP iPAQ 2215 has been stolen. I have replaced it with a HP iPAQ rx3417, but cannot restore my ActiveSync backup onto this unit. I can syncronise my contacts and calender from MS Outlook 2003 but need to retreive all my files stored in the backup.

What is the best way of doing this?

Welcome to Geekzone... You can't restore from one device model to another.

If you had ActiveSync set to synchronise your files, then you should have a folder under My Documets with all the files replicated from My Documents on your old Pocket PC. Just plug the new Pocket PC and copy the contents from this folder to the Mobile Device icon in the Windows Explorer on your PC.

As for other programs, you have to reinstall these.

The files were not syncronised with with my pc.

How can I retrieve the files from my iPAQ 2215 backup?

Is there software available to extract these files?
