Why has Telecom not released an update for the Titan yet.  We should get WM6, MMS and GPS support like our other fellow users across the seas.  Its like we live in the dark ages over here + what’s the use in having/supplying the hardware if up to date software is not supplied.  I might as well just buy a $10 nokia.  Also, the excuse that MMS is not supplied because people with PDA's/PPC's wont use it is crap, they should just licence the software and sort it out.  I wont even start on the problems we had with out public office connection.  Telecom's a giant retarded octopus, one tentacle doesn’t know what the other tentacles are doing 99.9% of the time.

Did you fix your Titan radio or have your Titan replaced? If you fixed the radio, I'm curious as to how you managed it. :p

I've been running WM6 since the day the Titan was released in New Zealand. I've the OS ROMs extracted from the Alltel 2.16 ROM, dcd's clean ROM and I'm currently using the Sprint 2.17 ROM. Until now I've been happy to take matters into my own hands and hack WM6 onto my Titan, but now that GPS and rev A are available, I certainly hope Telecom come to the party. Even though it hasn't really affected me at all I think it's pretty slack that we haven't seen a WM6 update from Telecom over half a year after the Titan was released with it in the USA.

The reason I'm hanging out for a WM 6.1 update from Telecom now is that it requires a radio update, and that's something I can't rip from another carrier's ROM. I know rev A is supposed to be released here very shortly after the US roll out, but I hope Telecom go the whole way and include GPS in their radio. Support in the ROM is a no-brainer, since HTC and Sprint have done it for them.

Regarding MMS: Note that we aren't the only carrier in the world not to have official support for MMS. The difference is that we are one of few who are unable get MMS on our devices until Telecom changes the profile for MMS messages. I don't know why it's currently the way it is but I'd guess they have a reason for it.

Hi Face, have a look over at ppcgeeks to get GPS running, radio still not going, wont be either untill tnz releases an update.  Ive update to dcd's titan rom 2.0.0 (telus) and updated radio and boot.  I updated with the sprint rom first and this updates the pbl/prl/pri or what eva as well, had major issues setting all this back up, the guy at the telecom store didnt even know what to do lol so watch out for this. On the sprint ROM you dial ##778# or ##3282# to get into the EPST and you need to set some settings in there, ive got a tool to get the password (SPC) if you need it.  Im not too sure what the ##???# is for the Telus build but you should find it on the net somewhere.  GPS is working but not very good reception, dosent seem to work to well in the city but ill try it tonight in a park or somthing. Check out the links below and if u need som help just holla. Also, ive only had this running for a day so i havent tested it all out yet so im not to sure if it fully works with tnz.. I cant seem to get a WAP connection going, using num:#777 usr: mobile@jamamobile.co.nz and passwd: telecom.  Anyone else had this problem?

While the discussion itself above is not viewed as illegal, handling an unlicenced ROM could very well be a copyright infringing action. We are making no judgement about this either way, but instead Geekzone has made a decision that the discussion of unlicenced Microsoft PDA ROMs is not allowed on this site.

Many sites, (perhaps including ppcgeeks still), still encourage/allow these discussions. Those sites are probably the best place for copied ROM discussions.

Thank-you for your co-operation.

Your continued participation on the Geekzone site is both welcomed and encouraged.

No worries Tony.  Belows not directed at your particular post just noticed this alot in other posts forum wide.

Seems like geekzone is run by head X telecom propaganda office or something? everyone seems to get all upset and their undies in a twist when people slag off telecom.  Get over it all you pro Xtelecom'ers out there.

I have read this about 10 times and still have no idea how to take it...

I should also state that discussions such as "Why hasn't XYZ (Telecom usually) released an updated ROM" or similar, are actually perfectly valid, and are most definitley welcome here. My first post in this thread refers only to Microsoft intellectual property, and is a not a Telecom thing in any way.

I wasnt having a go at you Tony, as i said "Belows not directed at your post", Terrierably worded I know...  just a general observation.  Anyway, since XtnzX too cheap and usless to upgrade, users have no other way but to break copyright laws and do it them selfs.  Any way, microsoft are rich, who cares if you use their software for free, certainly not me, ive never paid for a piece of software in my life, dont intend on either except for the odd game (personal use).  I do admit tho that i wouldnt be to keen to use piriated software in a business enviroment tho, audits are a bit*h.

Judging by your posts, it is you who needs to get over it. Telecom has no relevance to the 'X' symbol you employ. Plus your attittudes about privacy leave one wondering whether you want to skim off peoples hard work. I'm sorry that geekzone doesn't exhibit the mindless Telecom bashing that you want to cause.

If you are going to install unlicensed and untested software onto your PDA - just do it, but don't complain to your dealer if you void your warranty or brick the device.

And when we tell people off because they use those kind of words in relation to Vodafone, we are run by Vodafone. Or Microsoft. Or WorldxChange.

Look, we have been accused of being run by many companies, and you are all wrong because there's no relation between those companies and my own company.

Tony explained the discussion is not proper for our forums because it is about copyrighted material - that doens't even belong to Telecom. So bringing Telecom to the game is at least unfair, if not just mindless rambling of your part.

We rather have constructive comments than those.

Thanks.
