Hello,

A workmate of mine has a Treo 700W (027 unit) and is unable to connect to the Net and comes up with an error "no modem at above number" error (the same as that JasJar post in this forum) ... I can see that the phone is trying to dial #777 (the same as my Touch) but it fails to connect. How do we reprogram the Treo??

You need, afaik, a software solution called PDA Net for Windows, to be able to use the Treo 700wx as a tethered modem.

Just Google Search it, I think it’s around $25-$35 USD.

nah, not the one we're after. its something else as we're not trying to use the Treo as a dialup modem for a pc/laptop but just trying to access the web thru the phone's IE.

I have the phn now, and sorry, its actually saying something else =( its "The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed ..."

Just copy the same configuration from your Touch to the Treo 700wx. It couid be it "forgot" the username and password?

Also when opening Settings | Connections | Connections | Advanced | Select Networks make sure both have "Telecom T3G" selected. If not, select it and tap OK.

Then open it again and make sure the default connection in "Telecom T3G" (click EDIT) is to "cellular line", #777, user is mobile@jamamobile, password is Telecom.

If it still doesn't work, hard reset it.
