Good day everyone, I have 2 questions

1. Are there any fundamental differences between a pda bought in a shop and one provided by an operator?

2. between htc and k-jam, is it just a matter of preferences or is one really better?

PDAs or smartphones purchased from an operator means that it has been tested with that operator and that you'll get support for it.

CDMA based PDAs or smartphones 'imported' will almost certainly have issues connecting up to the network.

Some operators may bundle value added apps, or disable certain features. This happens a lot in the US, where devices are often locked down to ensure that users sign up to high value services.

One concern is with non-operator provided handsets is that they may be set up to 'dial home' or automatically update from former providers network, which while it may be free on the former network, might not be on the network you are trying to use it on :)

But in terms of Windows mobile, all the basic apps are generally present, except the ROM usually has the settings to utilise mobile broadband and photo messaging if applicable.

ok!

As to windows mobile, I have to admit the features I am really after is the outlook pairing and email access, (compatibility with xp and vista). I am not the best organise or strict of person so I would like the hardware/software to do it for me :)

btw is it true that you can install a blackberry encryption soft to be accepted on a "blackberry network"
