Hi All,

I are getting ready to head overseas on a holiday and need a single device that will allow me to view real time GPS maps, access wifi hotspots. I are not really interested in a seperate bluetooth adaptor if possible and do not want to take a laptop. A device that comes close is the asus636 but does not seem to be available in NZ. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Nokia N95/N95 8GB/N82/E90 will all do what you need (and then some).

A little more information to help give more discriminating advice might be helpful...

What is your price range?
Are there other features that interest you?
Are there form-factor considerations (for instance screen size) that are important?

Hi NZTF and thank you for your reply.

Price is not too important but would prefer not to spend more than the $600 mark and are happy to buy second hand. Standard PDA screen size is preferable but a high resolution would be a bonus. I cannot believe the low resolution of many PDAs, makes web browsing a PAIN. SD expansion would be great and procecssor speed of over 350Mhz would be fine.

Basically we just want to be able to navigate, use wifi and basic internet browsing. Does not require GSM (but would save us taking a phone as well I suppose) and no built in camera is required. No boimetrics required and good battery life is a must as we are going to Hawaii and will be going on some long walks. The a636 is the closest device I can find so may just have to keep my eyes open on ebay. My nokia 6275i has a built in GPS receiver that works fine, I don't know why more PDAs do not come with it.

An ipaq with a NAVMAN sleeve could also be an option, has anyone had any experience with these devices?
