O.k., I have one of these - runs on Mobile 5 - phone has lots of bluetooth and "locking up" issues. I'm told these should be resolved when Mobile 6.1 is available for the phone. I already have Mobile 6.1 on my computer - how do I get it on to my phone?

You need to use a rom update utility (RUU) to flash the new ROM. You need to be aware of a few things though - upgrading from WM5 to 6.1, you need to flash a newer radio ROM and a new bootloader. The radio ROM needs to be 3.35 or later and the bootloader needs to be Olipro's 2.40 SPL MFG version. You flash the bootloader, the radio and then the OS ROM.

You can get the RUU freely on the web - if you download the latest Titan/Mogul update from the HTC website, you can extract the executable file with WinRAR/7zip/whatever, remove all .nb and .nbh files and replace them with the one .nbh file you want to flash. From there, run ROMUpdateUtility.exe to start the flashing wizard.

You first need to take note of a few details on your phone though, to prevent the radio flash from overwriting certain provisioning data. You need to enter your phone's EPST (because the codes are supposed to be for dealership provisioning, I won't tell you how - this is up to you to find out), and note down the MDN, the MSID and the A-Key. If the new radio overwrites these values, you can then restore them.

Remember, as long as you have the 2.40 SPL on your device, you effectively can't brick it by flashing, so you can recover if something goes wrong. See http://www.ppcgeeks.com for a ton of information.
