Hi

I am looking at the option of storing digital photos when I am away using my iPAQ 5550. I know that some people have used a 20GB+ external hard drive with USB to connect to PocketPcs using USB . I would like to hear from people that might have done this with 5550.

I would prefer a working solution rather then me experimenting with different models/cards/drivers etc. I have the PCMCIA expansion unit for 5550.

Anyone out there that can help? Any other options for mass storage (10GB+) for 5550?

Thanks & cheers

Hi there

After a week no replies, not a single one!?

It looks like we are perfect consumers. Mr Bill Gates & Co just love us, don't they? No one would try to make his own gadget if you can buy one off the shelf. Why use brains when you can spend $$$ and get it right away.

I am surprised no one tried this, what happened with the Kiwis and no 8 wire?

well first you need a pocketpc that support host USB, and so far i think Toshiba is the only one that do a host usb connection.

secondly it depends on the WinCE itself as well.. thought i know you can operate pcmcia hdd via ipaq's pcmcia jacket. but it drains battery a lot.
