It does not transfer to the PC, but you can send from the PC to it. And if you use the Nokia PC suite, then everything is fine. It'll open a "File Explorer" type of window for you. This way you can copy files from and to.

Interesting - I would have sworn that the phone to PC file send functionality worked when I first got my 2 3650's back in April or so, but it sure isn't working for me now. I have been trying to get a definitive answer on this - Nokia Tech Support was adament today that it does indeed work, but pushed off on any troubleshooting effort to fix it, suggesting that it might be a Belkin software problem. I can't find any Belkin knowledge base or customer forum that provides any help there.

I have tried sending .txt and image files from both phones to 3 PC's, 2 using Windows XP and 1 with Windows 2000, all with the same result - the bluetooth connection is apparently made and transfer appears to be in progress, but I always get a 'Sending Failed !" message on the phone, with no evidence of activity at the PC. Alternatively, I can send from the phone tp PC via infrared, all functionality between phone and PC using PC Suite works normally, and I can also easily send from the PC to the phone using My Explorer, as well as send from phone to phone. I guess I can live with this one anomoly, but it really is bugging me that I thought it worked before.

I'm not sure there's a native support for sending files. What I have is a freeware app called FExplore that alllows me to browse all my files - and it does have a Send To function (Bluetooth, IR, SMS). It works well for me.

Hmmm. I've just tested this again with my iPAQ as the destination. Regardless of using the FExplorer program, or using the builtin Send To (from the images application), the file is transferred as PIM Object. It means that the file is transferred, but because of the type it is just discarded on the destination.

Weird. I'd say this is a problem on the Nokia side.

Just tested at home - the Nokia Send via Bluetooth option always tries to send as PIM Transfer, not File Transfer. So, I think this is an issue with Nokia, not your other device.

Thanks for the testing. After your previous response, I went back and confirmed that true PIM files, including calendar entries and business cards do correctly transfer from phone to the PC do correctly, and do get deposited in the directory defined in the Belkin bluetooth cofiguration. I think you are right that this must be a Nokia phone issue in the 3650 itself.

Tomorrow morning, I think I'll try some transfers with my son's Sony Erickson bluetooth phone to verify that .txt files will be delivered to the File Transfer directory in the PC.

I'm disappointed that Nokia was so adament that the phone to PC image transfer capability works for the 3650, when it certainly doesn't, at least for the firmware level I am using (2.54), and I think I read that you have 3.16, so it doesn't sound like it has been resolved.

I'm glad at least that the infrared transfer works properly so that I can us my laptop for transfers of those files. It will be handy while travelling to just be able to pop the pictures over to it, without having to go through the pixie dust routine of toggling/activating the Bluetooth serial port, wait for the connect to complete on MRouter and then running PC Suite. I hope we will eventually see more elegance in that application, but on the other hand, I'm thrilled at what this phone can do, especially the PDA-like functions.
