Hi,

Got my MPx220 about a week ago and am battling to get all the features to work. Have MMS, Pxt and SMS workin and now onto the web....

Can any1 post a step by step guide on how to set up email, vodafone live and GPRS on the MPx220?

I have registered with a email account with vodafone etc.

And to be able to access Vodafone live would be great.....

Thanks in advance for any help.

U know us MPX220 users have to rally together....vodafone is no help!!!!!

The MPx220 comes with a full pop3/imap client - so I use my own account settings instead of the Vodafone live account. Make sure you use the smtp.paradise.net.nz for outgoing e-mail, and remember that Xtra does not allow pop3 access from other networks.

As for Vodafone live! you only have a little functionality since the phone does not fully support the service (or the service does not support the phone).

I personally don't have any WAP configuration on my MPx220, since the Pocket Internet Explorer is so much better showing full HTML pages instead of small version. Of course it's a personal preference - and it uses more bandwidth.

For configurations check the Vodafone Wireless Configuration site.

To configure access to the Internet:

Press Start | Settings | More | Data Connections.

Change all but MMS Network to Automatic.

Click Menu | Edit Connections | GPRS Connections.

Click Menu | Add and enter the following:

Description: Vodafone Internet
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: Internet

That's all you need. Open Pocket Internet Explorer and try it. You can then configure the e-mail on Messaging.

Xtra does, if one signs up for "Secure Remote Email" service; about $2.50/month "extra".

Yes you can pop from a TNZ connection (CDMA 1xRTT and EV-DO). The Telecom network is part and shared with Xtra's own network. All servers are visible.

Eh? Yes you can do both now via xtra's "Secure Remote Email" (POP3/SMTP, SSL); see http://xtra.co.nz/products/0,,11954,00.html
