OK. I have a SE v800 and I am on T-Mobile (USA) network, and I pay the extra money for the full (VPN so called) internet access. (The phone is the UK, not the Japanese version, has not been debranded, yet). I can use the phone to send and receive email (through my own mail server, not tzones) and surf to websites. I can also use it to connect my PowerBook G4 to the internet. That all works.
Now I am trying to use it to connect my Tungsten T3 Palm device over Bluetooth to the internet. I downloaded the latest Phone Link stuff from palm today and installed that on the phone. I go to the Phone Link app and I set it up so that it is using the v800 and T-Mobile VPN GPRS. When I click connect, it sits there about 90+ seconds doing an intialize for 5 secs and then "signing on" for the rest of the time (85+ secs), and then says, "Error: timeout (0x1212). The phone shows the bluetooth talking icon but never tries to connect -- never gives the connecting message, like when I do it from the Mac.
This has got to be easier. This T3 won't connect using the Palm Wifi 802.B card unless there is no security at all (no WEP, even though it supposedly supports WEP) and I have never gotten it to work with any of my GPRS services phones either. It does sync to the Mac over BT, and I can use it with the Tom Tom GPS over bluetooth.
Any ideas on how to get this to work?
