Ive got my Ipaq 5450 connecting to the internet via my PC over bluetooth using passthrough in activesync, problem is as soon as activesync finishes I loose the internet connection and cannot reconnect. I've ticked the stay connected and that dosn't help. Thanks in advance

Welcome to Geekzone...

Are you moving the devices away from each other? The range may be a max of 10m, but less is better.

Also, you could try connecting via LAP instead of ActiveSync.

At first I thought it was this. However I'm using them next to each other now and it still drops out after activesync has finished.

I've tried following the guide you suggest but as I've got XP service pack2 I don't seem to be able to relate it.

Hmmm. No luck there then - the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Bluetooth does not support LAN - you will have to stick with the ActiveSync PassThrough then.

There are a few things to check:

  • Make sure your Bluetooth adapter is plugged to a USB port, not a USB Hub (if using USB)
  • Make sure the Power Management for your USB Root HUB options are all unchecked (Control Panel, System, Device Management, scroll down to Universal Serial Bus)
  • Make sure you are not using an USB on an old VIA-based motherboard (older than 2 years) - these don't work well, so you should use a PCI card.

Checked out all that and I still cannot work it out. Connection will drop out after activesync finishes and the only way to reconnect is to reset the Ipaq.
