Hi Guys
I have just migrated from using HP Ipaq devices (PPC2003) to the HTC Apache(WM5), everything works well on the devices but I seem to have lost some of the advanced settings in Activesync. Mainly the ability to only sync contacts from certain catagories & the ability to stop the device from updating Outlook, both these settings were available on the HP Ipaq's using Activesync 3.8.

The really odd thing is the if I connect the HP Ipaq up again, Activesync 4.1 will load the old profile and I have these settings available, this makes me think it is a device/OS issue rather than Activesync as 4.1 supports these features but only with older devices. Is there any way to enable this feature on the Apache? or if not is there any alternative sync packages available that do support this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

ActiveSync 4.1 in reality contains the old and new codes. The old code is invoked when a device running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition (or older) is connected. If the device runs Windows Mobile 5.0 then a different code is executed.

I can't say much more about the categories synchronisation because in my case all my devices synchronise to an Exchange Server - the option is certainly not there, but if you right-click Contacts there's a Settings menu (which is greyed out for me).

Welcome to Geekzone... This is slightly off topic, but will reply here. If you need a follow up, please open another topic.

The certchk program does not work with Windows Mobile 5. You need a certificate for your Exchange Server. This can be a self-issued certificate, issued by your own Certificate Authority server, if you have it.
