Hi there, I have seen the Nokia Lumia 900 on websites such as http://www.mobicity.co.nz/nokia-lumia-900.html
Can anyone tell me if this will work on Vodafones network , and will the 3G side of things be ok. I am a heavy data user, web, email etc.

Looking at the specs in that site, it will be Telecom mostly, with *SOME* 3G coverage on Vodafone/2degrees - it won't wherever Vodafone has 900 MHz 3G (or if 2G coverage is available it will fall back to that, with the much slower speeds).

Clove (much more reputable than mobicity) is listing their version of the Lumia 900 to have both Telecom's and Vodafone/2Degree's 3G bands.

Edit - Flick them an email and confirm the 3G bands anyways. AFAIK, they do not charge your credit card until the order is shipped.

I have ordered from Clove, they provide top notch service. You will potentially need to pay tax on items that would normally attract $60 (iirc) tax and any service requests will mean you need to send it to them at your own expense but other than that it is usually an excellent deal.

The Lumia 900 has two entries on the GSM Arena site here and here.

I am going to bet the AT&T model (second link) will not be released outside of the USA and the other model has plenty of 2G & 3G bands. The same as, for example, the iPhone 4S if you except all that CDMA garbage :p

Note that not everywhere the 3G coverage matches the 2G coverage. So it may go down to 2G, but in some (new) places it might be 3G only with no fallback.

Also due to difference in technologies, even 2G and 3G cells exist, effective range is different.

the Lumia 900 is quad band not tri band like the Lumia 800/710 so should work on both XT & Voda/2Degrees
