Does any know how to fix the issue of creating wired connection to the Playstation3?
I have a wireless, but want better stability and faster speeds with a wired connection, I have tried everything I could find on forums.
Manually setting the IP address and DNS etc but nothing works, it says it times out. We have a Huawei HG630B modem.
We had a wired connection on an old modem but moved house and changed to Spark with a new modem a while ago and since then its never worked.

I have a PS3, I've had it plugged into three different switches, it just worked automatically every time. Keep the PS3 networking on auto, including DHCP. I guess there could be some incompatibility, but generally ethernet is pretty solid.

Can you describe what happens when you reset the PS3 networking to default and plug it in? Can you see the PS3 appear if you log into the router control panel?

Plug the PS3 into the router, then log into the router and check if its seeing the PS3 - my 659 shows the connection via the PS3 name or sometimes the MAC Address - if youre not seeing either show up on the list of connected devices, could be faulty cable or dodgy port on the router (or even PS3)
