Hi Guys,

Im sitting in a hotel in HK right now contemplating buying a 40gb PS3. I know that the games are region free, the PS2 discs wont run and that most blu ray discs are region locked. Is there anything else I need to know? Will the power run correctly in NZ and work straight away or will i need a converter? Thanks.

Power is universal 110v-240v. The only thing pretty much be BluRay and DVD region locked.

Internet is my backyard...

Approximately two-thirds of Blu-Ray releases are region-free. For those that aren't, I think Hong Kong is bundled into Region C, which looks like the countries dodgier for piracy, etc.

[Edit] Hong Kong is Region A so is the same as the Americas.
