Hey,

I have been waiting for this for a while, checking all the relevant sites and such, which advise me that the upgrade should take place today, November 19.  Is this NZ time or not, because I jumped on last night when i got home around midnight and nothing.  Jumped on this morning when i woke up and nothing.  No offers to download, no automatic downloads starting, nothing that I can see.  Can anyone offer any insight into this?  Thanks.

It says it on the dashboard when you log on to xbox live - 1 day to go, or two days to go when i checked yesterday...

Just downloaded it. There are a few ads as others have pointed out here and on other sites I've been to, but the whole 'Welcome' tab or whatever they're called now can be disabled which cuts down on some of the miscellaneous stuff.

Would be good too if it started up, or gave you the option of starting up, with 'My Xbox' instead of 'Spotlight' which again is just a whole series of ads.

Otherwise it looks pretty good, much better than the old blade system, so quite impressed so far.

Yeah it started downloading for me at around 1130 last night.  Looks really good.  Lovin the avatar creation.

gehenna: How long was the download/install?

I think the total time would have been approximately 10 minutes. I was doing something else at the same time so wasn't really watching the clock, but it was about that long to download and install, then a bit longer to play around with my avatar and set that up.
