Keyboard for XBox 360 Elite?

I thought I could just plug a standard USB keyboard into the XBox for entering email addresses, passwords and chatting on Facebook and Twitter, but when I tried it nothing happened. Has anyone else tried this successfully?

I didn't think Xbox 360's supported keyboards, maybe I am wrong.

I've been doing this for some time successfully. You need to ensure that the entry box is selected and in game usage wll vary from game to game.

I can't speak for Facebook or Twitter, but the rest of the functionality (MSN) has worked AOK for me in the past.

I've never had problems with it. I think though that it won't see it unless it booted with the keyboard plugged in. Some games (such as FFXI Online) also reimplement the wheel and do not support the keyboard (or are hit and miss).

Yeah, it's working fine for me now. I was thrown by the lack of LEDs - Caps lock, Scroll lock, etc, don't seem to work. The only other problem I've had is with the '@' symbol, but apart from that entering text works fine.

What's the problem with the '@' symbol? The only thing I can think of is that perhaps it's detecting as a non US layout (eg. the UK layout has the @ above the single quote key ('))

Makes sense, I guess with the "zoning" of Xbox gaming.
