hello all,

Just wondering if anyone is using the ASUS dsl-n55u ADSL router?

From what i have read it looks to be pretty good. Some reviews point to a slightly slower doenloads (UK) but other than that i can't find much negative. Keen to hear of anyone's experience - good,bad or indifferent with the unit.

Looking to replace my current setup but not interested too much in comparable Netgear, D-Link or Linksys models

Can't comment on that particular asus model. The spec looks similar to my DGND3700. It should works fine.

edit: btw, what is your current setup?

Currently running a Draytek 2800 (modem only) & Level One 802.11N access point. I looked at the Netgear also but for some moved on to the Asus. I liked the dual band wireless, dual USB, DLNA server, Gigabit ports, QOS (simple), 130 meg
RAM.
Agreed it is very similiar to the DGN3700, do you use the dual-band wifi and if so what are your impressions of this?

yup. it is excellent. if i were to use the 2.4ghz band, the tx speed is slower due to other devices on that band. my desktop can tx large files via wireless to my NAS at great speed on 5ghz

my router is connected to:

5ghz - my desktop (win 7)

2.4ghz - 3 android devices, 2 laptop (one mac, one win7)

gigabit ports - tv, NAS, truenet

usb - 500GB usb drive
