Hi everyone,

I have a internet connectivity of 20mbps and i wanted to connect my workspace through wireless connectivity such that there wouldn't be no wires running around.

Please can anyone suggest me an optimal wireless router to which i can connect the my internet cable such that all the 10 users would be able to access internet through wifi after connecting to that wireless router.

Please also do advice me giving LAN connectivity is Preferable or connecting it through wifi as i have just proposed....will the speed get less if i connect it with wifi or will it be the same bandwidth of as connecting the users through LAN...?

Please feel free to ask for more info pertaining to the issue.

You will get less on speed on WiFi than on an ethernet connection.

There are many wireless router options out there, you probably want to look for some brands such as Microtik, Cisco Linksys and Netgear.

I see your IP is not in New Zealand, so we might not be able to give information about specific models available in your country.

Hi Amer, last time we spoke we got your two routers connected via a layer2 bridge and a cable between, so are you asking if there are better wireless routers to support 10 users. What are these users doing, basic web browsing and database searches, spreadsheeting or heavy gaming.

Hi everyone,

I am glad you remember me cyril7 and yes as you mentioned last time two wireless routers were patched through a cable layer2 bridging was done however, the issue was resolved and two wireless routers could communicate with each other and now as network reception to one our wireless router through which we access internet is very low and which is directly effect our daily needs of web browsing and database search,etc hence we have thought of migrating to a wired DSL line from the servcie provider hence forth i was thinking of connecting the DSL line from the servcie provider to the wirless router which could again allow all of the users to connect wirelessly,which would be subtle.

But again if the speed would be funneled down by providing the connection through wifi then i would have to connect each node with a LAN cable by drawing connection through a switch.Thus needed your valued suggestion. I hope you got the precise idea of the scenario.

This is exactly what you need to do. Wifi is not only slow in some situations, it gets congested if you put lots of traffic over it and especially for printing or network storage. wireless links between routers can double the congestion and the potential for signal problems or interferance. These issues can be reduced if your wireless links between the nodes use a 5Ghz connection with line-of-sight between the antennas.

Time to find a new industry!

Hi everyone,

The best way out i sought is to get a DSL router with wireless functonality and hence the issue is now resolved.

As all the systems were already being connected wirelessly just with the minor change we r gud to go again... ;D
