Hi all,
I have read and implemented instructions in topic #422 to try to match com port numbers between windows xp and my axim x51v pocket pc. Windows xp insists on assigning com port 4 on the pc for widcomm bluetooth use but my axim only has com ports 7 & 8. Windows and google searches are unhelpful, can anyone help please?

Welcome to Geekzone... There's no need to align the ports on your PC with the ports on your Pocket PC - they are not related.

What you need to do is just is open right-click ActiveSync on your PC, click Connection Settings and select the correct port in the list. That's all.

Next, delete the Bluetooth pairing and create a new one, from your Pocket PC. This will find that the COM port on your PC is connected to ActiveSync.

Make sure you only have one COM Port defined on your Bluetooth configuration. You must use an Incoming (sometimes called Server) COM Port. You find more instructions in our Bluetooth Guides.
