Hi there!!
First, sorry about the bad english...

I have a Toshiba Libretto 110CT running Windows 2000 and im having some trouble using my D-Link DCF-650BT Bluetooth Compact Flash Adapter (with pcmcia adaptor).

I bought this card because I want to use it with a bluetooth mouse... Unfortunately, dlink only provides the Widcomm 1.3.2.7 driver (no HID support).
Somehow I found a newer driver (1.4.2.8) from a Taiwan manufacturer that sells this same card with other name. Spent some days trying to patch the driver license and finally had success!

Now, the trouble: with BOTH drivers, when i start windows, the device manager says about the card: "This device cannot Start", and my bluetooth icon on Systray is red...
But, i dont know how it happens, if i reinstall the driver without restarting the computer OR change the "Resources" configuration (the card "restarts" after it) the card works (the bluetooth mouse too!)... when i restart or standby the notebook the card cannot be started again...

Any suggestion about how to fix this... I think that its not that hard, might be simple (the card works.... i just dont want to do all that stuff every time i turn the pc on)...

Ola e bem vindo... Are you using the correct PCMCIA driver for this adapter? Perhaps Windows is not restoring the PCMCIA adapter controller (the slot, not the Bluetooth card)?

Check the Toshiba website for driver updates, they have good resources there.

Olá Freitas! Obrigado!!

On Device Manager the installed driver for the PCMCIA Adapter is "Toshiba ToPIC97 CardBus Controller".
Libretto has two pcmcia slots. In one of them I use a CDMA Modem Card and it starts perfectly every time I start windows... Maybe it's something specific with toshiba controller and widcomm drivers... I'll try to change these Toshiba drivers to other versions...

I've changed the drivers to Microsoft Generic PCMCIA and still getting the same problem...
When I unplug the card and plug it again it returns the same error, only works when i change the driver without restarting or change the IRQ settings on Resource Tab (Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> Bluetooth CompactFlash Card -> Properties -> Resources)...

Maybe a 3.3v incompatibility on this win2k start procedure?!

Finally solved it!! :)

I've downloaded a Microsoft program called DEVCON. It manipulates all Device Manager functions via shell commands.
So, all I have to do is schedule this cmd line on windows startup:

devcon restart @'PCMCIA\BLUETOOTH_BT0100M--5768\1

It works! :D
In Brazil we call this GAMBIARRA lol

Hey good to know the restart works... Yes, it could be something to do with voltages. I have the same problem with a built-in SD card reader in my laptop...
