So im finally planning on installing a DSL Line Splitter which i will undergo in December.
Ive done some research and planning and have come up with a plan on how it would look.
These are things im planning on buying.

- Splitter $26
- 5M Cat5e cable $12
- UY connectors $4 for 10
- DSL Wall Jack $10
- Punch Down Tool $8

Does anything in my plan look wrong?

From ground wire(Blue/White) ->Splitter->HousePhoneCat5ealready installed(blue/white)
->DSL wire(green/white) to new rj25Jack in the wall.

All wiring connected together using 2hole UY Connectors

So yea i was just wondering, are the UY connectors better to use compared to the UR connectors

and does anyone know where i will be able to buy a outdoor waterproof box for the adsl splitter

oh yes ive heard of it before, but is it necessary?
its quite expensive to buy

and im only installing 1 jack, for dsl and a splitter
the splitter will connect between the outdoor street line and the wiring in house. the new adsl line will go through a new hole in the brick wall into the closest wall in the garage. thats all :)

will i need a the cable tracer tool

Where is the ETP on your picture? You seem to be describing a master filter that has two blue/white pairs. Need a bit more info on your picture.

Use gel filled outdoor grade cable if you are going to run cable exposed to elements.

i forgot the label the etp/demarc point but its the square box northwest of the splitter

Post back your results when done. Your picture is still not clear enough to work out whether or not it's correct, so I guess you'll just have to give it a go :)

the (blue and white) coming from the etp/demarc point will connect onto the input end of the master splitter which is (orange and white). The master splitter has 2 outputs, one is (blue and white) and the other is (green and white)

blue and white output will connect onto the house wiring which is already present in the house.
and the green and white will connect onto the new dsl line which i will be running to its own jack.

does that sound alright?

Yes, that sounds right. You picture seemed to show incoming line going to blue/white.
Going to orange/white is correct.
