After several unsuccessful attempts to connect an external drive and a printer via the USB ports of HG556a router (Vodafone Station 1), I have been sent a new router by Vodafone: the infamous SGH1500 (Vodafone Station 2), which I can't use either since it has just too many blocked features (blocked VOIP, no way to change DNS settings yourself, etc.)

I know that Vodafone says their second station does no support bridging mode, which is another crying shame.

Is there another way that I could still use that second station to connect the shared equipment (external drive + printer) yet keep the Station 1 (HG556a) as the main WiFi source?

I'm only an infant geek, willing to learn but please be kind with your language :)

Yes, don't use it as a router, that simple.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Dont't bother. If you want to tinker buy a DV130 and Mikrotik router. No shortage of features that way.

No point winging about how bad an ISP supplied router is/isn't. The fact is they work perfectly for 95% of their customer base which is why they supply them.

What would the setup be?

Essentially no setup, just connect via lan interface, give said device an IP address that doesn't conflict with anything else and do what you wish with it including turning off the wifi and DHCP server.
