Hi All,

New to the site so hopefully this is the right place.

A brand we work for is looking to host an event in a bar in Auckland in the coming months that will include having someone streamed into the bar.  Currently considering using Google hangouts to host the streaming which should be fine as we simply want them there and able to speak.

We're more concerned about the quality of connection we will have and how this may affect the streaming quality.  Does anyone know a company or solution that can help us to manage this and essentially set up a stronger network for a short period of time so the feed will not be affected by the poor internet speed if we were to rely on a bar WiFi?

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Jas

Yup! Its called ethernet. Involves a Cat5e or Cat6 cable run from the comms cabinet to a spot behind the TV and a patch cable going to the TV from there - if the TV is ethernet connected. I pesume you are thinking of a ChomeTV or equivalent? I thought they had an ethernet port like the Apple TV.

Time to find a new industry!

From my experience, Skype provides a better and more stable video stream than Google Hangouts. Skype definitely has better voice / sound.
As stated by webwat, If at all possible use ethernet cable to connect the display device to the internet. Avoid using wifi if you can.

I would find a venue that's able to provide good internet as if it's mission critical, I wouldn't run it over WiFi.

An with my completely biased hat on, this cafe could provide such a thing.

Disclaimer: I own the cafe.
