This has probably been answered a million times, but....
I have a single Belkin Bluetooth dongle and two computers a desktop and a laptop. I keep both syncronized with my Exchange server and have been using my desktop to sync my Sonyericsson T616 (GSM) with my contacts, calendar and tasks with Sonyericsson's XTND software.

Today I wanted to use the dongle to connect my phone and my laptop. Since the contacts, calender and tasks are the same on both computers. Since they are two different computers I treated the laptop as a different bluetooth device (even though the dongle was the same). I finally got it done and XTND wanted to treat the sync as a first time sync, overwriting all of the files.

Then came the real problem, trying to get the dongle to work on my desktop. I had forgotten how to do the first time connection between the computer and dongle. Well I finally got it done, but I believe there must be a better way to share a single dongle between two computers. The operation systems are the same and the Outlook files are the same.

How do I share the dongle without having to re-register it on each computer.

When you say re-register you mean pairing the devices? If this is the case, you're out of luck. When pairing the devices, a encryption key will be created based on the key you've entered, the devices' id (MAC address) and other random information. Once you pair the devices the phone will know that the dongle with that specific MAC address will use a specific key.

When you move the dongle to the laptop, the MAC address is the same, but the laptop will try using another key - and your phone will try to use the desktop key. This will not work well.

Yes, I do mean pairing. Your news comes as a dissapointment to me. It just seems conter productive to have a portable blue tooth dongle, in my case a USB to Bluetooth that can be used with only a single device. The least effort one has to go through to use the dongle on two computers is to have to go through the "pairing" process each time the dongle is moved from one computer to another.
