hi all. i just joined and need a ?? answered plz
last week i singed up with aussie broadband. and had a LARGE dish installed
and the newest IPSTAR MODEM. the set up is 2 cables from my satellite dish,
into the modem, then an ethernet cable from modem to my computer. no usb ports on
ipstar modem. now i want to connect my other computer onto the internet without using
any cables to the other comp. now what do i need?, i know its a router, but what kind is
compatible with the IPSTAR modem?

From you comments I guess you want a router with WiFi (Wireless) capablity. There is quite a range of routers to choose from I have found the TP-Link brand to be very good, if you dont want WiFi then you will pay conciderably less.

Other brands from various bigger name manufacturers abound, the site I linked above has a vast selection and are very good to deal with. All these routers support 4 wired ethernet ports.

IPStar would have assigned you a IP address and SubNet, and most likely some DNS server addresses. These are loaded into the routers for their WAN port setup, and your PC's are set to get an address automatically via DHCP from the router and away you go.
