well I'm writting this post just before throwing myself and this nasty device through the window...
the story began when a friend gave me a "semi-dead" d-link di-514 (HW Ver:B1), the router seams to have some broken soldings on the board (as the d-link technician says) so I've to play the cool-down/plug-unplug game until it boots up... but when it's up, it rocks all night long.
the thing is, the wireless link (AP) has never appeared on my notebook's sight... 'been trying to disable/enable the AP, enable/disable WEP, reset the device, update firmware, but no signs of the AP all around :-s
any ideas (besides throwing away the router) are welcomed
danke, andres.
