I have a desktop running win XP, with a fairly standard bluetooth dongle with BlueSoleil. I have a new laptop with Vista, with inbuilt bluetooth. How the heck can I get them to talk to each other - coherently, anyway. I've tried file transfer, PAN, LAN, object push, all of it, the devices are paired, but it tells me connection failed, and i can't browse either device from the other. help!
LAN is all good and well, until it involves running wires through a ceiling cavity in 40 degree heat. I have a wireless router, which is what Im trying to conect to, and i have the wap key, and im getting a strong signal on the laptop.
scrap that last post, i thought i was in a different topic for a moment. i have been trying to connect to my wireless internet through our router for a while, but im having a whole different set of problems there. bluetooth is sort of an interim measure until i can solve that one. if you have a solution to the network prob tho, im getting an error with the ping test, no response from default gateway or dhcp server. ive messed with default gateway, no help. i dont know how to mess with dhcp server.
