Can any body shed any light on why I can't get my PPC and my phone to pair together. I have follwed yor bluetooth guide t the letter and the phone will not allow a pairing on due to security. As such I can not get a GPRS conection
Is it me or the phone?

Check our article about Hardware incompatibility between Nokia and iPAQ. Look for patches for your iPAQ - it seems HP has released one for this specific issue.

I had exactly the same problem and I downloaded a patch which solved it instantly. My h2210 now pairs perfectly with my bright new Nokia 6230 and everything is hunky-dory.

Fantastic ipaq and nokia will now pair.
Followed the bluethooth guide to creating a gprs connection, all went well until the phone said that it was not a valid access point. I'm with uk O2 any sugestions?

I thought I had solved the problem..... but it seems I still have issues! The Nokia 6230 and iPaq 2210 pair perfectly (as I said previously), but now I find they will only hold the connection for a few minutes before I get a message saying 'the modem has disconnected'. Sometimes it simply disconnects and I find the BT has simply switched itsel off!

I thought the patch had solved it, but I'm starting to lose patience now....!!!

Yep, I have finally lost patience with the blasted 6230! After it repeatedly cut off its BT connection and refused to switch on until the phone was reset, I ditched it. Polished its dinky little faceplate, put it back in its shiny box and exchanged it for a Nokia 6820...... which took me 3 minutes to set up perfectly and it never misses a beat.
10 out of 10 to Vodafone NZ who tried everything (but failed) and unhesitatingly exchanged it for me.

Success at last, with a fair bit of help from O2 UK. I can now connect and browse to my hearts content. Email aslo sent from iPAQ.

Hi all

This is my fist post but I have been following this thread carefully. I have just got my 6230 firm ware updated to latest version, 4.28, and still no joy. The phone works fine on IaDR but BT just crashes after a minute or so, or the phone completely resets.

Any other suggestion apart from putting it in the bin?

Hi

Me again, just to let you all know, or those of you who hate setting all these setting for different phones and service providers, I have stumbled across a very good software tool do all of this for you.

connect2internet by 2K development. They have let me try a copy to see if it could beet this problem. It didn’t but it sure as hell does what it say. It connects with one click or tap of the styles and away you go. The pro version also has some neat features. For those out there who want to get up and running quickly this is a must. I know it takes the “fun” out of setting thing up but!!

Don't throw your phone in the bin! If you're into fishing at all, the 6230 is the ideal size and mass to act as a sinker for estuary or slow-moving river angling. The weight is just right to get a good long-distance cast when you want to reach those hard-to-get-to spots. Good luck with it.
