Hi,

I've noticed that in version 5.5 of the UniFi controller they've exposed the USG's FreeRadius server configuration inside the controller UI. Currently I run a free radius server on a raspberry pi that does WPA2-Enterprise WiFi authentication, but seeing that the option is now available on the USG I'd be keen to run it on there instead.

I'm just a bit confused about the configuration options on the USG. In the screen to create a new user it requires a tunnel type and a tunnel medium type. I am unsure what to set these options to in order to match the configuration I currently have. I've setup my existing Free Radius server to only authenticate when using EAP-PEAP with MSCHAPv2

It would help your request to tell us more about your existing setup and show what options are available in the drop down lists

I would expect you need to do all the configuration via CLI. And if you are using MSCHAPv2 then are you authenticating to an AD backend, or do you have your users locally since then EAP-TTLS or EAP-PEAP with just PAP would be fine.

If you are using an AD backend then you would also need all the Samba / winbind and openldap components to integrate fully back into AD. Which I would suspect is missing from the USG complied version of FreeRadius.
