Hi all, I have a Linksys WAG54G wireless router.
Model No is WAG54G ver. 1.2.

The wireless connection is working fine but not the wired connection. When I had my network cable plugged to the router, my computer kept saying 'connected -> network cable unplugged' repeatedly.

Is the router faulty? or just some configuration that i missed out?

Please advice :) cheers

How long have you had it for? They are a bit renowned for the wired ports failing.

common sense is not very common

I bought it as second hand. The guy had it for 2 years?
He said that it was running fine, he then did a reset and sold it to me.

linksys website doesnt seem to have firmware updates for ver. 1.2.

Man, I'm having the same issue on WAG54G V2.  It worked fine for 18months then BOOM wired ports are stuffed.  They will run if you fix your NIC to 10/Full but what sort of solution is that!  I've just spent the last three nights faffing online with Linksys Live Chat and after many resets, bios flashes, standing on my left ear with my thumb up my.... anyway, the up shot of the conversation is this....

Bernhard A. (10092): The wired ports only run at 10/Full, right?
Craig: Yes
Bernhard A. (10092): So it works.
Craig: Bernhard, yes it works. I'm chatting to you!
Bernhard A. (10092): Please try it at that speed. Is it alright with you?
Craig: No! I transfer Gigabytes of data between my pc and my home theatre, that's why I have a wired Cat 5 100/Full setup.
Craig: 10/Full is like the dark ages.
Bernhard A. (10092): I understand, Craig.
Craig: go to google, and type WAG54G "Network cable unplugged"
Craig: there are many others with this issue.
Bernhard A. (10092): Please give me five minutes. I am currently doing some research on the issue and will return shortly. I apologize in advance for the delay.
Craig: ok
Bernhard A. (10092): Thank you.
Bernhard A. (10092): Okay, Craig. Thank you for waiting patiently.
Bernhard A. (10092): The device you have there may already be defective.
Craig: Is it a known issue?
Craig: if so can I get a replacement?
Bernhard A. (10092): Yes.
Bernhard A. (10092): The router is already defective.
Craig: So will linksys replace it then as it's a known fault?
Bernhard A. (10092): Yes.
Bernhard A. (10092): May I have its serial number?
Craig: CF641F610235
Bernhard A. (10092): Okay.
Bernhard A. (10092): It is still under warranty.
Craig: great!
Bernhard A. (10092): May I know where you purchased that device?
Craig: Ingram Micro (NZ)
Bernhard A. (10092): Please give me five minutes to process an RMA.
