I have an Archer C2 router which for the last 18 months has been working fine using all 4 Lan ports and WiiFi then all of a sudden it dropped its network, after working with our ISP and troubleshooting we found that if we use all 4 Lan Ports the internet drops out, if we use 3 Lan Ports or less the internet runs fine, a really weird scenario, I have swapped the ethernet cables into different lan ports there is no one lan port or cable causing the issue the router just does not like all 4 ports being used.

Has anyone ever come across something like this, I am wondering if this is the router with a power issue.

Appreciate any feedback.

If you've done a reset and it still does it, most probable is a failing power supply.

I had a 2 year-old Netgear router do that some months ago ... found port number 3 had not only failed, but when using it the other ports also went awry.

Got it replaced under Warranty/CGA.

Thanks for your feedback it turns out its a failing power unit, the heads up on the Warranty/CGA was a saver thanks for mentioning that, router was 18 month old it had a 3 year warranty I took it back to the retailer they swapped it out no questions asked.

In my experience routers are a right pain. They never seem to just die. They start doing weird things first. Random internet dropouts and disconnects,speed dropping etc.
Pretty much any odd stuff happening with your internet connection is worth trying a replacement router I'd you have one.

I think the manufacturers probably don't invest enough in cooling.
