Fritzbox 7490 and Webserver Remote Access

Hey all,

I'm usually pretty apt at finding solutions to my tech issues, but this one has me stumped so I've registered to seek some help here.

I have the 2 degrees provided Fritz Box 7490 and am trying to configure a Webserver through Nginx or Apache on one of my spare PC's. I'm also trying to configure Dynamic DNS for easier access. The problem is I can only seem to get access to the Webserver on the local network and not externally.

I've tried disabling the software Firewall and have also tried putting the PC in the DMZ on the router to test if it's a port issue, but still no go.

Has anyone had a similar issue, and can help me out here?

Any help appreciated.

You need to do is port forward port 80 & 443 to your webserver on your fritz:

So as I said I have configured port forwarding, and even entered the Web Server into the DMZ (exposed host on Fritz) to rest if it was a port issue. It hasn't worked unfortunately.

If your webserver is working within the network it's a port forwarding issue. IIRC setting up an exposed host on the fritz will not route traffic the same as if you set up a port forward.

Hm. Wasn't aware of that.

I have tried port forwarding for the Webserver as well though. Still the same issue.

Though I do notice that after setting up a port forward on port 80 for the Webserver, that the ipv4 forwarded port seems to change itself also. Why is that?

Nevermind, fixed it.

I had port forwarding for Xbox Live using port 80 and didn't realise that the webserver wasn't assigning due to that. Ugh.

Thanks for the heads up Andib. It was so simple I overlooked it. :D
