Hi

I have just spent a million quid on this Logitech DiNovo media keyboard/mouse thingy, and I have to admit when it works it is an awesome piece of kit.

I installed it ok - didn't get any errors - used the latest drivers - followed all the instructions etc etc so I don't know if I have got any WIDCOMM issues or anything.

When I go to the Bluetooth applet in Control Panel, it says I have WIDCOMM Software 1.4.3 Build 4.

My problem is that after half an hour or so (difficult to tell exactly how long) my keyboard always loses its connection to the Bluetooth Wireless hub - my mouse loses its connectivity almost as often - i have to permanently have a regular mouse plugged into my PC just so I can access the "My Bluetooth Places" software in order to activate them again - really frustrating.

Everytime I reboot - then guaranteed without fail, the keyboard or the mouse won't be paired.

I am sure once the pc has booted, the keyboard and mouse are working as normal, then the stupid bl00dy logitech software kicks in and everything loses its connectivity - AAAGGGHHHH!!!!! Oh and you cannot disable the software cos then nothing works.

While all this krap is happening - the media pad (the most useless piece of kit with this whole thing) works perfectly. Great.

I do not think that there is a WIDCOMM driver conflict problem as described on numerous other threads/forums relating to this item as I have not seen the errors associated with this issue.

I have checked my BIOS for power management issues in the USB and nada.

If anyone has any clues as to where to start looking it would be very much appreciated.

I have an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo and Windows XP Pro SP2, which was installed before the keyboard/mouse.

I did read somewhere that someone with a similar issue got a separate PCI USB card and this got rid of his problem, but before I invest yet more money in something else, anyone got any advice on whether this might help as well???

Thanks for listening

Besides the BIOS, check the Windows Device Manager. WindowsKey-Break will open the System app, and then change to Hardware tab. Find the USB devices and look for Power Management. Uncheck all boxes...
