No. Not possible.

You're pretty limited as to what you can do with it and what hardware you can use since they only support OpenVPN rather than the more common LT2P w/ IPsec so you typically need 3rd party router firmware with OpenVPN support.

Is there a particular reason you want to install it on your router rather than your device(s)?  And What are you hoping to get out of NordVPN? I'm always curious what issue people think they're solving or fixing by looking at something like this.

you need to first establish if the router can do it, most isp supplied ones dont

It's a Huawei HG569. With a basic Sony Blu-ray player plugged in via lan. I have read of people flashing new firmware but I cannot find any info on my specific router

I have a subscription to Nord. My Android TV box died and I want to access better online film content than is currently available in NZ

Unless I've very mistaken, your best option would be to install Nord on whatever else you're using to watch the content.
I specifically haven't installed Nord on my router, because I don't need to be pretending to be in Japan (where the missus watches stuff from) on any but 1-2 of the devices in the house.

yeah, that is the best option for sure, I have a dumb tv (although a good one) that I used to stream to via an android TV box, which I managed to kill by plugging the wrong power supply into while reorganizing, so the only netflix option on my current Home theatre setup is an old sony bluray with inbuilt netflix which works fine but I cannot install apps onto it so the next port of call is to stream though my laptop using HDMI direct to the tv, but I currently have no digital audio backfeed from the tv to the amp, so am stuck with less than ideal TV audio,

I figured if I could set up nord on my router, then I could just enable and disable it as required.

Can you plug a router into a router? if I could do that then I could just have a dedicated router for my bluray only, and plug it into a spare LAN port on my current router...

Research DD WRT and Tomato. Once you flash your router with this firmware you will be able to load Nord. Only certain routers can be flashed. I prefer Linksys routers.

Another option is to setup a Raspberry Pi or other Linux SBC as VPN router and point your TV devices default route at it.
