I'm trying to configure the USG to use mtu 1500 for spark fibre.

pppoe mtu to be 1500

vif 10 mtu to be 1500

eth0 mtu to be 1508

Here is my config.gateway.json. It seems like valid JSON code but i am unable to connect to the internet with this config. Can someone help me figure out what is wrong with my config code

{
     "interfaces": {
           "ethernet": {
                "eth0": {
                       "vif": {
                             "10": {
                                     "mtu": "1508",
                                           "pppoe": {
                                                   "2": {
                                                          "mtu": "1500"
           }
       }
     }
    }
  }
 }
}
}

The eth0 and vif 10 MTUs should be 1508, and pppoe should be 1500.  You have the eth0 MTU using its default (1500), the vif 10 specified as 1508 (correct) and the pppoe0 specified as 1500 (correct).

Honestly - don't mess with it. There is no point to and nothing at all to gain (no speed or ping improvements at all). There should be absolutly no need to touch the config.json file and it is not at all recommended by Ubiquiti as future firmware or controller releases could cause a provisioning loop of the router (which is really annoying to deal with or diagnose).

Leave it as the default with automatic MSS clamping set (default also).

why are you missing with this? have USG, and no issues just entering in the normal details though unifi controller.
