Hi Kiwis,

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a wireless network at my house, but my Xbox 360 is downstairs. I want to set up some sort of wireless access downstairs that I can then wire (by ethernet) to my xbox 360. Essentially bridging my network. I'm not interested in one of those rediculously overpriced 360-wireless adaptors ($180!!!!).

What is my cheapest and easiest option to do this?

I currently have the set up that you are after. My Xbox 360 has a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 router plugged into via a LAN cable and the router is set to Wireless Ethernet Bridge mode. I have entered the WPA key, channel, SSID of my other Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 router which is acting as an access point and connected to the modem. I am using the Tomato firmware on both routers rather than stock and WiFi is sweet.

All you need is a Wireless ethernet bridge adapter/router. I imported mine from Hong Kong for NZ$100 each and shipping only took 2 days....

Do whatever you want to do man.

I'm doing the same thing as billgates except I'm using a WRT54G as my Xbox's access point. Any wireless access point or wireless router with dhcp and routing functions disabled (making it an AP) will do what you want.

Even cheaper:
If you have a computer (or even easier, a laptop) nearby the Xbox which uses wireless and has an ethernet port, you could go into the control panel, select both connections, right click and choose 'bridge'. Plug the xbox into the comp's eth port. I did this with my laptop for about 6 months without any hassle.
