our house has this (see photo) set up from the previous owner. I just replaced the router with the one provided by bigpipe. I see there are 2 blue cables attached from the Netselect into the house, and i have 2 ethernet ports in the house, so i assume they are connected. But when i tried to plug in an ethernet cable from the ethernet port on the wall to my PC, nothing connects.

Is the set up done correctly? Any advise would help. Thanks!!

OK. I think that bottom netselect 1 data/6 voice is purely for telephone plugs in your house.

Your main data in/out from ISP provider is the yellow cable. It apparently connects the ONT to your router. It seems to be OK (can't see the full path of the cable).

The blue wires would seem to be the two Ethernet jacks in your home for Internet access.

They are connected to the two white patch leads (the ones with velcro on them) (on left of photos).

I would try unplugging the bottom connectors of those two white patch cables and plugging them into two of the yellow connectors on your router.

Hopefully, that should give you Internet data.

If you have a phone landline over Internet, then I can a see couple of ways that might be provided. But, try the data first.

Hi, as JWR says, remove those grey cables from the lower telephone module and connect them to the yellow ports of the router. If you have a phone in the house then you are going to have to organise a line splitter to sort that, but for now just test as mentioned.

Edit also remove that blue cable going between the ONT and the phone module, that should NOT be there

thanks all! a few things though

i pluged the grey cables into the router, and only one of the wall socket works. The one in the living room still has no internet. Could that be a socket issue?

Then what is that Netselect 1 data + 6 voice device for?

Does the top Netselect work like a switch?

Since the Netselect has 8 ports, and my router only has 4 ports, what if i want to install my ethernet ports around the house? What can i do?

Hi the lower module is a phone module, the phone line terminates on it, the 6 voice sockets are used to connect to the patch panel above to deliver phone to desired outlets, ignore it if you are not using voice.

Can you please take a closer photo of the top module that clearly shows the wire terminations.

Don't worry just saw the lower photo, purhaps open the wall plate in the lounge and take a photo.

No. Switch is in the router.

The top data netselect module is just a patch panel.

gently pull off the cap hat covers the the terminals, to make sure they have been connected correctly.

Hmmm, might need to pull those small white plastic caps off, they are not really required, and then do shots showing the terminations.

hopefully it is terminated as TIA 568a at the patch as well, if not that could be your issue. sorry can not tell from the photo above.

Hi, they look good, although of the two which is not working, have you tried pushing the plug in and out a few times (at each end/socket) just to wipe the contacts of any potential corrosion

If either looks a bit odd I would say the bottom photo the orange/white wire looks as though not fully home.

Also the two grey patch leads in the cabinet, are they normally fully wired cables, just check they are, I would presume so, but as they were used for phone circuits they may be wired less.

As one circuit works, I would presume they are correctly wired 568a, but a possiblity
