Hi everyone, I'm about to move in a 3-story terraced house.

There's a fiber hub at ground floor.

Each level has Ethernet outlet.

I'm thinking about setting up a access point or router on each floor via Ethernet outlet.

And I can switch to 3 routers seamlessly.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Connect fiber box to Ethernet switch so that all Ethernet outlets will have internet access, right?

How can I achieve above?

No. ONT (a media converter and bridge) connects to a router (you only need one router per site). Router connects to switch. Access Points typically bridge traffic (rather than route).

I'm assuming fibre box/hub is the ONT

In which case you connect ONT -> Router -> Switch -> Ethernet outlets

So plug the ONT into a router, then from your router's lan port plug it into a switch. Then from that switch you can patch the ethernet ports into the ethernet outlets to "liven" them. Or if your router has sufficient lan ports you can connect each lan port to the ethernet port/patch panel on the lower floor

From those ethernet ports on other levels you can connect an access point, or another switch and AP if you have devices that require physical connectivity

i would look at something like the netgear orbi as its a router, and also the satellite units can be connected via Ethernet for better performance, + the satellite units have an extra Ethernet port which helps connect other devices.

I have the ORBI RBK50 and have been using power link for the backhall but in the process of getting ethernet installed properly with is likely to be ONT>Orbi>switch>Upstairs switch with the satellite orbits connected with proper ethernet. up and downstairs. Helpfully my ONT is in one corner of the house where you don't really need internet! The electrician has put Cat6 in so far as he didn't hear me say the 'a' part of Cat6a but not sure if it's worth the $ to upgrade.

I also looked into Velop but went with the orbi as I think the range was better and they had more lan ports IIRC We've had them for around 18 months now and it's been flawless until a recent update which has either made it a touch flakey or our internet has become flakey, not sue which one is to blame just yet.
