I currently have a NB16DG supplied by my ISP and they're now offering me a new NF18ACV for $14.95. Sounds nice, but I've read terrible reviews of it on e.g. PBTech, particularly in regards to the WiFi. So even though it's cheap-as-free I'm still wondering if I should bother with it or if the WiFi will actually be worse than what I've got. I'm not too fussed about the 802.11ac if that's what causes all the problems, happy to stick with n if it's more reliable. Or could I run both the routers side by side to improve the signal?

Any advice appreciated :)

My own experience is that the Wi-Fi wouldn't reach to the next room. I switched it over to just acting as a router, and put my old router into "Wi-Fi only" mode. Then, upon finding that I inexplicably could no longer connect from my Mac to my Windows PC, I disconnected the thing entirely and went back to my old one.

In a word, my experience with the NF18ACV could be summarised to "Avoid!".

Hey, thanks for your reply, it's kinda what I expected :)

Do you have any experience with the WiFi quality of the NB16DG?
