Hi all
I am having trouble connecting my MS Bluetooth Presenter Mouse 8000 (its the one without the recharging dock) to my Dell XPS M1530. This is made more frustrating by the fact is used to connect fine and for some reason it has now stopped.
The problem seems to be with the mouse itself and not the software or drivers. When I turn the mosue on the battery meter light on the bottom of the mouse comes on and then should turn off, at which pointI should be able to press the connect button, for 5 seconds, for the bluetooth connection to be made. However the battery meter light no longer turns offand when I push the connection (for 5 seconds) nothing happens (it should flash green and red), the light just remains on.
I have searched the internet high and low for a solution with no luck and seeing that I bought it off trademe I cant take it back to a store
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Assuming you have not modified, added or removed any software on your PC - because you don't say so... Have you tried removing the batteries from your mouse and leaving it without any power for five minutes?

Yes I have removed batteries for long periods of time. Some software changes have been made (I dont think I could recall what though). The connect button on the mouse should work even without a computer present (as it is just setting it up to be found) so I dont think it would be a software issue?

What about using the transceiver?

Hi

The transceiver works fine when plugged into the laptop, when the button on it is pushed it flashes ready to recieve the bluetooth signal. However it is the mouse side of the connection that doesnt work. The connection button on the mouse no longer flashes when pushed for 5 secs instead it just remains as a solid light.

Using the transceiver or built-in Bluetooth won't make a difference because it seems to be a problem on the mouse startup only, not on the system.
