Hi

I have finally managed to pair my 1945PDA with my PC, using an unbranded USB dongle, rather than the belkin. Try as I might, I cannot workout how to share the internet connection. I have enabled internet connection sharing, but I am now lost. When I click on the PDA in the bluetooth services Icon from control panel the services the PDA provides, there is no network here, but all the profiles on the PDA are enabled. Does anybody have any idea how to connect to the internet, when using SP2. ALso when I try and transfer files to the PDA from the PC, using the send files option from the bluetooth icon, I am told the send failed, make sure that that some kind of 'file push' service is installed. As an aside, I am using the microsoft generic drivers, as the bluetooth software supplied would not work. I sometimes thing uninstalling SP2 would be the best option all round!!! Can anybody help???

Chris

The Windows XP Service Pack 2 Bluetooth software does not offer the option to share an Internet connection. It can be a client on a network though. The easier option in this case is to establish an ActiveSync connection via Bluetooth and then browse the Internet from there.

Check this article in our Bluetooth Guides.

You can use the non-Microsoft stack, but it's not an easy change if you have no experience installing Windows drivers - and even some experienced users had problems. If you want to try, search in our Bluetooth forum, there are some instructions there.
