I have an IBM R40 laptop that is part of a wireless network that connects through a Linksys access point. The laptop is not the hub unit. I have a Kensington USB Bluetooth adapter connected to this laptop. I have a Palm Tungsten T5 that is bluetooth enabled and I am trying to connect to the internet on this PDA. I can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas? Note: I can hot synch through Bluetooth.

This Guide should give you the directions for configuration.

The ICS configuration requires a specific IP address (192.168.0.1) to be available. Since you are already using a router in the network, it may be that the required IP address is already in use. Check this.

I looked at the guide. I still can't access the internet on my Palm device. The TCP/IP settings on both the desktop(hub) and the laptop are set to obtain an IP address automatically. Nowhere do I see a specific IP address except in the configuration for the wireless access point.

Do you know what Bluetooth software are you using? It is very important that this software support the LAP profile. You have to configure the Bluetooth adapter on the host computer with the address 192.168.0.1 as per the guide in the link. If this address is already in use then a conflict will happen and the whole thing will not work.

The software is WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software version 1.4.2.10. There is no bluetooth usb adapter connected to the host. The host is not bluetooth enabled. There is a Kensington bluetooth adapter connected to the child (laptop). How do I tell if it supports the LAP profile. If i need to upgrade the software, how can I do this.

When I say Host I'm referring to the computer that will host the bluetooth connection. The Bluetooth network adapter will be on your laptop. follow the instructions in the closely to find how to configure it.

The driver Widcomm 1.4 supports LAP.
