I having trouble. I recently moved over to Orcon and brought a linksys wag200g modem router. now everytime i try and downlaod a large file from the net the internet light on the modem turns red and the net drops out for about 30 seconds. if i leave the file trying to download then the light turns green again and then after about 5 seconds turns red again.

I had a look on the linksys forum and it seams that alot of people have this problem with this modem. can anyone surgest another good wireless modem router. or has anyone had this problem before and did they find a fix?

I've heard of a few people having problems with the WAG200's on Orcon.  If you just want something simple all in one that works I suggest the:

Dynalink RTA 1025W

Now... if you want to get your geek on....

I'm using a Dynalink RTA1320 ADSL2+ modem + a Linksys WRT54GL (custom firmware), very flexible and reliable setup.  By seperating the router/wireless/switch from the modem you can change the modem later on for example when Telecom rolls our VDSL.

Ben wrote some good blog posts about it last year:
