Hi,
I am searching for a NZ supplier of dual cat5e/telephone female wall attachments for my new ethernet/telephone install.
I require price and availability for the female cat5e plug, telephone plug, box and combination faceplates that incorporate both ethernet and telephone lines.
I have found a supplier for the ethernet hardware in the US, but would prefer to get them here in New Zealand, if possible.
Anyone know a supplier?

If you visit your electrical wholesaler you can just pick up PDL or HPM faceplates off the shelf. There are plenty of modules available for these including BT phone, RJ45, F, belling lee etc (as well as power). The modules just clip into the faceplate and are interchangeable (except you should under *no* circumstances have phone/data and power on the same faceplate).

My only observation though is why you are bothering with BT plugs for phone? It's just easier (and cheaper) to use RJ45's these days and they are now the recommended option for new wiring installs using a proper structured cabling solution.

Thanks for the info.
I am wiring for ethernet and telephone connections throughout my house.
I will have one central point for ethernet (router) with 4 outlets to 4 positions throughout the house.
I want to combine a telephone connection to each of these positions throughout the house from my telehone input.
The wiring for both is done - I now require the hardware to connect everything up.
ie: boxes, faceplates - (combo ethernet/telephone), and female connectors (ethernet and telephone) to attach to the back of the faceplates.
I figure I need 4 dual ethernet/telephone faceplate combinations, 1 quad ethernet only faceplate and 1 quad telephone faceplate. Correct?

Are these available?

Faceplates are available in combinations up to 8 way.

What I was trying to point out is that there is no need to use telephone BT connectors. Ideally every connector should be RJ45 whether you're intending it to be for data or phone. Everything should be wired back to a patch panel and this allows you to easily reconfigure ports as needed.

To plug your phone into an RJ45 connector you simply need a RJ45 -> RJ12 cable or you could go down the path of buying BT master adapters which have an RJ45 plug and then a BT socket but these are not necessary and IMHO look ugly.

This should give you a few pointers.

For all hardware the best place to visit is a Cory's or Mastertrade store. Their data stores will carry everything you need, their other stores will carry a reasonable range of goods but can get other components in for you.
