Hi there!

I will be travleing through NZ for 3 and a half months and it is crucial for me to have a wireless connection. I am wondering if there is such a think as a portable wierless stick. We have them here, and was hoping there might be somewhere that I can subscribe to while I in NZ.

Please let me know!

Bring your 'vodem' equivalent and stick a prepay SIM card in it, affordable $1.00 a day for 10 MB and can't recall the next upgrade go to the Vodafone site.

as long as it's unlocked it should work.

If you have a bluetooth / USB phone and your laptop can "tether" you could use your existing GSM phone with a Vodafone prepaid sim as a "dialup" modem. Then you are able to make calls and use the data. This would only require a prepaid sim card from Vodafone on arrival. Data blocks are available on prepay for $10 per month for 100 MB.

Ok, translating this ;)

Vodem is a USB WCDMA 3G modem. If you have one - and it's no locked - then you can buy a Vodafone prepay SIM card (NZ$35), and use it. Once you buy the SIM card you can purchase a NZ$10 package that gives you 100MB/month. If you need more you can buy more as you need.

However if you you modem stick is locked to your network then you will need to buy one here, or as noted you can use any 3G handset that supports tethering - then plug via USB or Bluetooth.

Ok, so I can't say I am the most computer savvy person, but the person I am traveling with is. I am using a MacBook 2.16 ghz 120 hd. That is all I know....
