Hi, as you know I am a big fan of these, they have good radio performance, along with good modem and router throughput, however a common issue with many of these products and it is definitely not confined to DSE but to some very big brands as well, is heat build up. I always ensure they are in clear space and not sitting in the sun, and have drilled holes in the case of some where they cannot be sited in clear cool air space to help reduce heat buildup.

Its not uncommon for the heat to build up and the RF output stage to turn its toes up, take it back and get it replaced, DSE should not argue and look at some cooling options.

Cheers
Cyril

It may be a noise issue. If someone has a 802.11n ap nearby it will totally hammer the band with what is just noise to the older wifi gear. Even moving to channel 1 or 13 will not escape the massive carrier that is a 802.11n router with a double wide carrier in the middle of the band.

Good point Richard, would be well worth a go before packing it off to where it came.
